The Only Thing That Costs a Lot Is Time

Well today, when we woke up, the sun was hiding
Behind a sky that meant a rainy day
And I almost wish the rain would wash the hours from the minutes
And the clouds would tell the time to go away

Well I know you and I aren't always happy
There have been some times when we don't get along
But today maybe the rain will make us stop and realize
That the good times we've had together have not gone

There are many days when other things control us
Even corny poets have to make a dime
But today the rain is all we need for spending
And the only thing that costs a lot is time
